To promote the professional and personal empowerment of women through careers in the construction trades

Our Goals are to:

RECRUIT: MOWIT will increase the number of women in the construction trades.

RETAIN: MOWIT will improve the retention rate of women in the construction trades.

EDUCATE: MOWIT will educate the community about women in the construction trades.

Missouri Women In Trades works to achieve these goals by:

  • Building awareness of the trades as a career choice
  • Assisting women entering and completing apprenticeship programs
  • Providing a support network for tradeswomen
  • Providing recruitment and retention assistance for unions, employers and educators
  • Supporting local and state advocacy efforts



Vision of the Future
Women will be thought of as capable and willing to perform Construction Industry Trade Jobs. Women will be encouraged to pursue careers in the Construction Industry through training and education. Employers in the Construction Industry will recruit, hire and support the retention of women. Women will feel supported, safe and welcome in their nontraditional career choice.
