ABOUT MOWIT
Our Mission… MOWIT is dedicated to expanding opportunities for women to enter and succeed in apprenticeship and careers in the construction and building trades of the greater St. Louis area.
We will accomplish this through the following practices:
Provide a support network for tradeswomen;
Build awareness of the trades as a career choice;
Assist women entering and completing apprenticeship programs;
Improve retention among current tradeswomen;
Commit to building a diverse workforce;
Increase women’s equal employment opportunity and equitable working conditions;
Provide recruitment and retention assistance for unions, employers and educators.
Our Vision Is….To be a Regional Center focused on Women In the Trades to create change through policy making, advocacy and comprehensive educational training and stewardship.
ACTIVITIES

Monthly MeetUps, every second Wednesday: Tradeswomen only 4pm – 5 pm; All Welcome 5 pm – 7 pm

Survival Skills Workshops- for entry-level apprentices held by experienced tradeswomen
​

Workdays- volunteer with us! Build skills, learn new ones, help the community
​

PRIDE participation – every June, we participate in local PRIDE events; join us!
​

Trades Women Build Nations Conference- every October we send local tradeswomen to this national conference
