The mission of MOWIT is to expand opportunities for women to enter and succeed in apprenticeship and careers in the construction and building trades of the greater St. Louis area. MOWIT works with employers, unions, educational organizations, and other entities and allies to increase women's equal employment opportunity and equitable working conditions. MOWIT is committed to building a diverse workforce, strong labor movement, safe and healthy worksites, and women's empowerment and economic security.

GIRL SCOUT EVENT
Troop Round Up of 2014:
Over 5,500 Girl Scouts attentended a fun-filled day of exhibitions. On October 11th, MOWIT helped girls drive various nails and screws into plywood to create "nail art". The event was well attended.
RENOVATING FOR A CAUSE
Troop 3186 "Room Makeover Badge" of 2014-2015 for Safe Connections :
Troop 3186 helped sand, paint, build, patch, and repair the waiting room of the wonderful agency Safe Connections, a non-profit that teaches about healthy relationships and provides counseling and other services. Total makeover included: 4-tree painted wall mural, new curtains, new pilliows, new couch, newly build wall desk, and repainting of room chairs and bookshelf. This event was graciously sponsored by S. M. Wilson Construction Co.
